Canter, Freeburg Earn All-Conference

Atlanta, GA – Davidson Senior and men’s lacrosse captain, Nolan Canter, has made program history by being the first men’s lacrosse player to make an all-conference team in all 4 years that he has played. Canter split time between midfield and attack this year and finished the season with 4.5 points per game which ranked 6th in the Southeast lacrosse conference (SELC) and earned honorable mention as voted on by the league coaches. Canter, a resident of Easton, MD, was named honorable mention in 2012 and named to the conference first team in 2011 and 2013 as well as winning SELC Freshman of the Year that year.

Joining Canter in the post-season awards was sophomore attack Charlie Freeburg. In his second year since joining the Wildcats from the Memphis University School, Freeburg averaged 3.43 goals per game which was good for 4th in the conference. The sophomore has scored a goal in every game of his collegiate career and has scored 3 or more goals in 12 out of 18 games.

This is the first season Davidson has had multiple players selected to the all-conference team since 2011 when goalie Matt Carney joined Canter as a 2nd team all-conference selection. “Nolan and Charlie should be very proud of what they have accomplished”, remarked head coach, Ben Ralston. “They have worked hard, not just this year, but in previous years to get to where they are today. They’ve earned this.”
